Composer basics

Compose once, preview per network, ship to every channel.

Updated May 12, 2026·1 min read

The composer is the surface where every post starts. Write once on the left, see how each connected network will render it on the right.

The three regions

  1. Body is your draft. Plain text, with autocomplete for mentions and hashtags.
  2. Channel toggles sit above the body. Click any to add or remove that network from this post.
  3. Live preview rebuilds whenever you type so you can see character counts, thread splits, and link cards before publishing.

Hold Cmd / Ctrl while clicking a channel toggle to enable just that channel and disable the rest. Useful for quick single-network posts.

Per-network overrides

Sometimes you want a tweaked version per network. Click the override icon next to a channel toggle to open a sub-editor. Anything you type in the override replaces the main body for that network only.

text
main body: Shipping v1.0 of Unison today.
override (x): Shipping v1.0 of Unison today. ↓ thread incoming.
override (linkedin):
Today we're shipping Unison v1.0. Here is what changed and why.

Drafts and templates

Hit Save draft to park an in-progress post. Drafts live in Queue → Drafts and can be opened back into the composer at any time. Templates work the same way but stay reusable: open the template, the composer pre-fills, you tweak and ship.
